With our designs registered in 97 countries, we are the sole producer of fish-course cutlery designed for left-handed knife users.
Our story begins with a memorable dining experience at The Greyhound in Beaconsfield, UK. My husband, who prefers to eat with his knife in his left hand despite being right-hand dominant, has always battled with the traditional fish knife, which is designed for right-handed use. At The Greyhound, the attentive staff noticed his dining preference and accommodated him by adjusting his place setting. Their attention to detail made me realise that if restaurants are willing to go the extra mile for their guests, then a left-handed fish knife should exist to truly support their efforts. This realisation ignited the idea for Portside Cutlery.
Driven by this inspiration, we embarked on a mission to design cutlery that caters to both left-handed and right-handed users, ensuring no one is left out of a dining experience.
