A Dining Challenge Turned Innovation
With the design registered in 97 countries, we are the sole producer of fish-course cutlery designed for left-handed knife users. Our story begins with a memorable dining experience in Beaconsfield, UK. At a renowned local restaurant, my husband, who holds his knife in his left hand, was thoughtfully accommodated by the attentive staff. The restaurant staff, noticing his preference, switched his cutlery around for each new course. However, the traditional fish knife, designed for right-handed use, is impractical because of its design. This experience highlighted an unaddressed gap in cutlery design, igniting the idea for Portside Cutlery.
Driven by this inspiration, we embarked on a mission to design cutlery that caters to both left-handed and right-handed users, ensuring no one is left out of a dining experience.
Our commitment to quality and local craftsmanship extends to our packaging, cutlery bags, which double as polishing cloths and are made locally.
